Canadian Traveller – Introduction
THE FIRST OF ALL OUR GAMES
In the current context, the company is under construction and depends on each of its products to make its place in the industry and as a first game, the prequel has the responsibility to impose itself in the industry and to show the development skills possessed by the Studio. In addition of participating to numerous events in the world of video game creation, we are committed to carry out a large number of projects in this field in order to gain experience and be able to interact with this growing computer science community.
This fits in with the playful video universe that we are going to set up. Many stories are being written and this first game is the real prequel ! The adventure takes place in North America in the heart of the Canadian Rockies and parks, mixing fantasy and reality. However, other places than Canada will also be part of your adventure as player. You will learn to develop many of your skills according to your environment.
The development takes place under the famous game engine Unreal Engine 4, with a very specific organization in each stage that makes up the game. The first trial versions of the game should be released very soon (in the next few months) in order to get the public’s opinion, your suggestions and to be able to exchange with you on this subject.
SYNOPSIS AND BACKGROUND
Canadian Traveller is a video game focused on the technical and historical side of the Wallskors’s universe. The player is immersed in an atmosphere that he has not yet understood and discovered, but which he gets to know over time and through his adventure with his companion, a little gray rabbit, who is introduced to him from the start and whom he gets to know as time goes by. In addition, we include the concept of several dimensions/weather conditions within our game reflecting several moments in the story, environments and context must make the player understand that his impact on the world is minimal and that he is there as an actor and spectator of the events that will take place during the game.
The player plays a hero discovering the universe at the same time, but he also plays an anti-hero role in another dimension of the game, mixing a sinister and melancholic atmosphere. In this way, he is made to discover as he plays both sides of the same coin that the hero and also the anti-hero belong to the same story, and that their dimensions are connected in one way or another.
GAMING STYLE
And that’s the whole point of the game, the context and the universe that we want to set up in Wallskors Studio. We want to insert this parallelism between these two dimensions, between two notions that may seem logical to us but that can sometimes be completely blurred for the hero or the anti-hero. By playing on the string of multidimensionality, we encourage the player to try to make connections, shortcuts between all these dimensions, thereby pushing his brain to think.
The final objective is to finish this prequel on the confrontation of these two universes, and therefore the meeting between the hero and the anti-hero. In addition to this, the player has to make several choices, and the whole story of the game makes him realize the impacts and consequences of each choice, or almost, because the unexpected and the suspense are also worked on throughout the game. The low poly graphic side of the game is present here to bring a unique style to the game in less time, but with quality. Therefore, we bring a new style to the world of video games, specific to the company: – low poly two dimensional.
